I came to art early in life. As a child my favorite things were drawing, reading, and my dog. Decades later, they still are. I’m originally from Northern California where I earned a B.A. in art and a M.F.A in art history. After working in various mediums, I’ve spent the last 30 years working in clay. My pieces are stoneware fired to mid or high range temperature. My work shows my love of animals, plants, and humor. Dogs jump through vases. Pitchers may become toucans. An elegant urn doesn’t have handles, it has frogs. Monkeys hold up candles. Are you brave enough to reach into a monster’s mouth to get a tea bag? Nostalgia and retro design influences my work. Detailed botanicals adorn Victorian style vases. Hints of childhood’s blue and white china appear in some pieces. If I laugh while working on a piece, I’m satisfied. If you smile when you see it, I am successful.
